Measuring: Student’s will learn how to take precise measurements, understanding the nuances of sizing and identifying figure issues.
Pattern Drafting: Students will learn how to draft trousers, waistcoats, and jacket patterns along with a variety of style variations.
Understanding Balance: Student will learn to recognize and correct the various fitting imbalances and how to execute the proper corrections to ensure a harmonious and flattering fit.
Cutting Techniques: Student will learn and apply advanced cutting techniques including, working with inlays, how to lay cloth properly, and intricate cutting methods that contribute to the overall quality and fit of the garment.
Fitting: Students will learn the how to prepare and conduct a basted fitting, a hallmark of bespoke tailoring, allowing for precise adjustments and ensuring the final suit conforms flawlessly to the wearer’s figure.
Fitting corrections: Students will learn how to translate the basted fitting correction into an eventual final a master pattern.
Laying and Cutting Precision: Students will develop skills in laying and cutting patterns and executing accurate cuts for a three-piece gentlemen’s’ suit
Hand-Tailoring Mastery: Students will learn how to hand-tailor the trouser, waistcoat, and finally, the jacket using the soft-structured British bespoke tailoring techniques. They will learn advanced hand-sewing techniques used tailoring various pockets, turnups, canvases, lapels, collars, sleeves, and linings. Students will also learn the foundation skills used to pad stitch, set sleeves by hand, shaping and hand-setting collars, crafting tailored vents, and finishing techniques.
