Marlene Franke’s journey into tailoring began not in a classroom—but at her mother’s side. From the time she was young, Marlene was taught to sew by her mother, Mary, a woman whose love for craftsmanship and quiet belief in her daughter’s potential left a lasting imprint. Before Mary passed, she expressed one hope: that Marlene would one day become a tailor.

After her passing, Marlene discovered something that would shape her path forever—pictures of her suit designs, carefully folded and carried in Mary’s purse. She had shown them to her friends, proudly sharing Marlene’s talent wherever she went. That moment became a promise—a calling to not only pursue tailoring, but to elevate it in a way that would make her mother proud.

Though Marlene began her professional life as a Certified Public Accountant, it was this enduring legacy that led her to launch Marlene Atelier, her custom women’s suiting label, and later to train at the renowned Savile Row Academy in 2016. She spent the following four years perfecting her craft with quiet intensity and devotion.
